Summer Camp 2011 - Gerber Scout Camp

When: July 31-August 6, 2011
Where: Gerber Scout Camp, Twin Lakes, MI
Why: Summer Fun, Merit Badges, Rank Advancement, and all things Scouty

Fees

  • Scouts $250
  • Adults $150/week or $25/day
  • Visitor Meals $10/meal

Important Dates

  • Annual BSA Medical Record is required for scouts and adults/leaders going to camp. This requires a physical/doctor‘s signature. Please make arrangements now to have your physicals done!
  • 3/15/11 $125 deposit due (new scouts can pay 3/29/11) Payments are collected by Mary Patterson.
  • 3/29/11 Mandatory Camp Meeting, 7:00PM, Rogers
  • 4/19/11 Final $125 payment due (additional $50 if paid after this date). Payments are collected by Mary Patterson.
  • 4/26/11 Final Roster Due
  • 5/24/11 Deadline for health forms
  • 7/1/11 Any special needs such as diet, disabilities, etc. due to Kristin Koch.

Packing

See suggested packing list in the Gerber Scout Camp Information packet
  • Tents are provided; each tent sleeps two scouts. Cots are provided.
  • 15-18” tubs fit under cots—this typically works better than duffel bags.
  • Pack swim suit and towel on top. Soon after we arrive scouts will be checked in with camp personnel, then given a swim test.
  • Hangar to hang up Class A shirt each day (Class A shirt with pants or shorts is worn every day to dinner—No Jeans are to be worn to dinner!).

Summer Camp Forms

Adults & Leaders Attending Camp

Please turn in originals to Kristin Koch. It is suggested you make a set of copies for your records.
  • Annual BSA Medical Record is required for adults/leaders staying more than 72 hours. Please note there are three parts to this form; Part A, Part B & Part C. We need all three parts completed. This requires a physical/doctor‘s signature.
  • Copy of medical insurance card (if staying more than 72 hours)
  • 2011 Leaders Applications Form
  • All adults attending or visiting camp will need to submit a request for central registry clearance to your local Department of Human Services office prior to going to camp. No adult without this clearance will be allowed past the parking lot. Please see Kristin Koch or a troop leader if you have questions regarding this requirement. Please make 2 copies of your form letter, DHS 1910 and give to Kristin Koch.
